After a rather extended hiatus I’m back with a new Play-House. 1.1 picks up where we left off in 1.0. This time bringing in a more Detroit flavor. Kicking off with not one but three Moodymann joints back2back I keep up the pressure with some Rick and keep the vibe from there.
I hope you enjoy the mix. As ever it was recorded all live with no retouches or add-ons. The show was broadcast on www.future-music.co.uk on the 27/05/2012.
Peace

Yep. Just pure soul. nothing else. Here is the lowdown from Stimulus. Read on.

Almost a year ago I had the opportunity to spin for a tribute to Roy Ayers featuring Roy himself, Pete Rock, The Robert Glasper Experiment & Stefon Harris. The performance on stage and on the turntables was dedicated to the many interpretations of Roy’s music.

One of the most legendary and most influential songs Roy Ayers ever made is “Everybody Loves The Sunshine.” I put together a 15 minute mix complete with photos from the event featuring interpretations by 9th Wonder, D’Angelo, Dr. Dre, Erykah Badu and Mary J. Blige. Enjoy…

Mark Sutton aka Mr Margret Scratcher a local Cambridge beatsmith / DJ / Video fiend and general all round good egg, has knocked up some lovely mash up material.

In his own words….

A first little play around with Ableton, putting together something I’d done previously with turntables.

Quick and nasty..

Such Fun. Reg Kehoe and Marimba queens. Rocking out. The Bassist is the star here for me.
